What Easter Means To Me

No matter how
we all screw up,

No matter what cruelty
this world celebrates,
while we stand idly by,

No matter the exploitations,
that happen every day,

No matter the murderous
the indifference,
the coldness,
to our fellow men and women,

No matter how many
we abandon,
on our own reckless, selfish pursuits,

We always get the chance,
to be born again,

Every Easter.

That is the unbroken promise.

For this, we celebrate,
and stand in awe
and reverence,
and thanks,
every Easter.
