Carnival week
in our small town,
Open tents, sermons, and gambling,
Ferris wheels to touch the sky,
Clowns, girlfriends, fooling around,
Sweet Buttery popcorn,
Hot dogs on Merry-Go-Rounds,
Candied apples and Cotton candy
on a stick.
