inToday, March 1, 2022, is Mardi Gras day in New Orleans!
Though we know that these are very troubling days, sometimes we must insist the show goes on, at the very least, to deprive the war criminals any satisfaction.
Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is celebrated generally on the last Tuesday before the beginning of Lent, or Ash Wednesday, on the Christian calendar. Since Lent is a time of repentance, in effect Mardi Gras is the last day to truly celebrate, dance, eat a lot of food, and drink. Mardi Gras is celebrated across the world, in different ways, in different countries. I am going to include a link if you want to check out more information.
My collage includes a mask, which many folks wear in the parades, and a bottle, typically filled with spirits of one type or another. One of the items on my bucket list, is to go to Mardi Gras one of these years and join the celebration!
