in the Garden Of Hope,
you have found your forever home.

The Garden Of Hope at Good Samaritan Hospital Suffern NY, is a growing space maintained and sustained by volunteers from all walks of life. It encourages community spirit and healing and it is a spot where folks, be they visitors or employees of the Hospital, can sit down and feel the soothing graces of Nature and Community.There also are a fair amount of fruits, vegetables and herbs grown in this space which are shared with various local organizations. I have personally seen tomatoes, squash, and camomille flowers growing and harvested, among many other types of plants. It is a beautiful, wonderful spot!

Spring officially came to NY a few weeks ago, but it still is more like late winter than Spring. Here are some sunflowers to hurry the nice weather along! I sketched the ideas for these while waiting in a doctor’s office.
