A beautiful postcard, postmarked, 1949, Napoli, Italy. An enchanted island in the sea is how the sender described this scene. The postcard is chipped but still beautiful. The hand tinted coloring is difficult to capture but I think you get the idea. It is a signed work though I can’t quite make out who the artist is.
It’s nice to dream of these scenes, while I weather this somewhat cold New York winter, watching the Super Bowl on TV, nibbling my Chruscik away, and sipping on my chamomile tea!
Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon in winter.
Unfortunately, they rarely make cards like this anymore.
